Snow Again!

We watched the 44th Super Bowl last night with friends, and I was really glad that the Saints won! I was also glad that we made it home at a decent hour- the thought that we would be out of school today never even crossed my mind.  We got a call at 6:00 this morning that school had been cancelled and jumped out of bed to see the snow.  It was beautiful, and it just kept coming! It eventually started raining, but I think they are calling for more snow tonight. School has already been cancelled for tomorrow.  We have big plans of getting up and going to sled (if we can find a hill).  Here is a pic of my favorite people playing in the snow and a pic of north campus!

Simple Pleasures

A blogger that I love gave me this idea, and I like it so much you may see it again!

One of my simple pleasures is Presley's smile.

Another is showing Presley something she has never seen before.

Yesterday we watched cookies bake in the oven.  Clearly, she was happy!

She and Nick dunked their cookies in milk, and after Presley ate 2, she asked for more!

State of Emergency

Govenor Beebe has declared a State of Emergency in Arkansas, and State Police are urging people to stay indoors. No problem here, but it would have been nice to have some Fritos with our chili last night. We have been hanging out in our PJs, watching Dora, putting together puzzles, and reading books.

Last night, as we were putting together puzzles, Nick asked Presley who this was.
She replied that it was Sammy. Sammy is my cousin, and he has long hair and shaves only when he has to. It must have been the funniest thing that Presley has ever said! I laughed for 5 minutes!

Here are some pics of the reason we aren't going anywhere.

New Perspectives

We all traveled to SE Arkansas earlier this week to meet up with all the Popes and remember my grandfather.  It was so strange to go down there knowing what we were there for, but also being so glad to be together. My grandmother’s cousin led the service, and it was so nice to have someone that knew my grandfather to share memories with.  He even remembered that my grandfather seldom came to eat before his food was cold, and he reminded us at how my grandma Betsy would say, “Your eggs are stone cold!” and Pop would reply, “Good, that’s how I like them.” I thought that my grandfather was a pretty funny guy, but sometimes my grandmother didn’t.  I also remember that after my grandmother was gone, we all wanted to eat before Pop came to the table because when he got there, he would just cry and cry about missing my grandmother.

It is always interesting that God can bring us back to remembering the important things in life through losing people that we love.

Presley enjoyed all the attention that she received, and all the toys, books, candy, and sweets.  She also enjoyed Snickers. Snickers is my cousin’s puppy. Presley really liked to hold her and would get a very tight grip on Snickers anytime you tried to take her away! That is my mom trying to pry Presley’s fingers off!
