Presley is 5! {10-29-12}

Presley had a cheerleader birthday party on Saturday, October 27th to celebrate her 5th birthday! It was windy and a little chilly outside. so we went to the school's gym and cafeteria for the party.

On Monday, I took cupcakes to the Pre-k.  Presley wanted Hello Kitty!

Presley had to finish her work before we could leave.

I had to get a picture of Presley bugging Bryson before we left. She and all the other little girls have a crush on him!

Emma is One Month Old! {10-20-12}

I haven't had much time to blog about Emma because it requires two hands, and most of the time both of my hands are busy feeding, burping, patting, holding, and rocking Emma.  In the short times that I am not taking care of her I am trying to get a shower, fold clothes, eat, or doing things for Presley.

One of the many tests that they run on newborns is called a Coombs' test, and Emma was positive, so they had to check her billi levels. They were at a six, so we had to go to Little Rock on Saturday to the pediatrician (after we had just been released Fri. afternoon). Her level was at 10 Saturday, so we had to go back on Monday. Her levels were at 13 on Monday, so we had her checked in Cabot Tuesday. The billi level was still at 13 on Tuesday, so we didn't have to go back! Her poor little feet were so bruised from all of that.

Her weight got down to 6lbs 5oz, but I had to take her back to the doctor on October 2nd, and she was back to 7lbs. I was going to just have to take her back for a weight check, but she had thrush. She had one round of Nystatin, and I thought we had gotten rid of it.  By the next Friday I could tell that it was back, but we just got some gentian violet (recommended by doctor and pharmacist).  It might be messy, but it very effective!

Emma is in size 1 diapers and some 0-3 month clothes and some newborn clothes although most of them are too short! She has started smiling at us a lot, but I haven't tried to catch it on camera. I've just been enjoying watching her!

Our Little Queen

The Homecoming Queen, Sydney asked Presley to be her flower girl.  Presley wasn't sure what that meant, but now that she knows, she wants to do it again next year!
Eastyn was the crown bearer. What a cutie! Sydney got them both the cutest build-a-bears.

Practice started at 8:30 Friday, October 5th.

The Pom-Pom Pass!

We got done with practice at 11:00 but had to be back for the pep rally at 1:30. Aren't these two the cutest!

I love looking at people in the stands! Presley was waving to people!

Presley's besties Ella and Ryleigh!

Right after the pep rally we had to head to the float for the parade! It started at 4:00.
The parade was Presley's favorite!

We love tractors around here! This cracked me up!

We had to be at the football field at 5:45. We got in the gates and it started pouring!
The night presentation ended up being inside because of the weather.

 I so wish I knew what Presley was telling Eastyn! Look at that hand on her hip!

Emma was all dressed up too!

It was a very long and busy day, but Presley did so good! She had so much fun. My mom watched Emma all day for us! My brother, Betsy, and Nick's family all came to watch Presley. It was so nice to see them all!

Emma Grace Hill

Baby Emma made her debut Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 9:58AM.  She is a dream come true. We are so excited to have such a precious, sweet blessing added to our family!

Nick and I went to St. Vincent's Thursday morning at 5:00. They started pitocin at 6:15, I had an epidural at 7:15, and I had her at 9:58!  It was a fast, easy delivery.  Nick and I think it is so funny that she was born at 9:58 because I told the nurse that morning that I would have her by 10:00!
I didn't get a good block with my epidural, and I asked for the anesthesiologist to come back! He came back, but it still didn't work.  With Presley, they had to tell me when I was having a contraction, but I definitely felt like I needed to push with Emma! I didn't have to push much, and I was very thankful for that.

Presley is so proud of Emma! A change as big as a new baby at home isn't easy for her, but she can't get enough kisses from her little sis.

Our sweet girls!
