I got a Nikon D60 for Christmas, and I took lots of pictures! I have more from my old camera coming soon (including Presley with Santa). Enjoy!

It's Snowing!

In the snow globe, that is. This is Presley's favorite Christmas decoration. Why? Because we don't have anything else. I will call it our "Green Christmas", and I will tell you that it is because we have become very environmentally conscious. We hated to think about uprooting a beautiful tree and wasting so much electricity.

I will also tell you that it is absurd to think that it has anything to do with football. I can't believe that you would even think that! Shame on you! =)

2A State Championship

Some of you might remember this post. Well, the cheesiness (is that a word) must have worked! We will be playing Junction City in the 2A State Championship at War Memorial on Saturday at 6:30! Des Arc beat Bearden last night in a great game! I think there were about 1500 people in our little stadium last night.

If any of you know about Des Arc, there isn't much there. That being said, it is unbelievable how much community support there is. For instance, someone made a ball warmer so that our footballs would be warm and toasty. Our band is kinda sparse this year, and we have no drummers. Some of the drummers that have already graduated came back and helped us out! Someone brought 2 butane heaters so we would be warm at the gates. One great mom brings the football coaches breakfast every Friday. One busy dad takes care of the field at no charge. I could keep going, but my point is that we feel blessed to be part of this community.

Roseola

Doctor: "It's Roseola. That's exactly what you want it to be! It is classic. It's like she read the textbook."

Me: "OK?"

Presley needs to stop reading so much...

First ER Visit

We had our first ER visit last night. Presley's fever kept getting higher and higher despite alternating Tylenol and Motrin every 3 hours. I called the medical exchange, and the doctor on call told me to take her to Children's ER. The doctor was so nice, but all we got was some Tylenol and a bill. It is a virus- we hate viruses.

Since I know that you like to see pics of our sweet baby, here is a pic from Friday...

Thankful for Cool Whip

Hope you had as many things to be thankful for as we did! One thing that we are not thankful for is stomach bugs =( Presley has one. On a more positive note, football continues for another week- Des Arc won the playoff game against Smackover last night!

Rough Day

Presley had a rough day today at daycare. I bet she wishes Nana would just come keep her everyday. Nana definitely doesn't bite.

MG Opens

Anyone in my family knows that means modern gun, and in my family it goes without saying that we will be at the Pope's land in Ashley county. Who knows what we are doing for Thanksgiving or Christmas, but on opening weekend of MG, we will be in Ashley county. It is beautiful, the weather is always great, and the company is the best. Here are some pics of Presley's first visit.
There is camo,
long dirt roads,
pinecones,
and best friends.

Wheels

It was all about the wheels today. We washed them, rode them, and drove them. Check Presley's new rides out. The red wagon is from Nick's parents and the pink coupe is from my parents. The last pic is too funny- one hand on the wheel and one out the window!

My First Birthday Party

It was a great day for a party! It was so nice outside, we had to move the party out! We were so happy to be celebrating Presley's first birthday with fabulous people on a fabulous day. Thanks to all the people who came to celebrate with us! We have a new item on our shopping list...fire extinguisher.

Halloween Costume

Presley was a Razorback cheerleader for Halloween. Can you believe this is her second Halloween? We came home from the hospital on her first Halloween. I found the hat she wore last year, and we tried it on for size!

Treats and Tricks

Presley is full of treats. My husband, on the other hand, is full of tricks! I thought it was trick-OR-treat. Seems I have both.

Happy Birthday Presley!

On the night you were born, the moon smiled with such wonder that the stars peeked in to see you and the night wind whispered, "Life will never be the same."

We are so grateful that our lives will never be the same. The world is a much happier place with you! We love you always and forever! Happy first birthday beautiful.

Out for a walk

Presley is Miss Independent. She wants nothing to do with holding your hand while she walks. She jerks away while saying UH! Then walks fast to get away.

Just eating some leaves in the backyard. The weather has been so nice lately, and Presley loves to show off her walking skills, so we have been enjoying our backyard. We wish we had a swingset. Maybe this summer.

Bee bound

Spelling bee, that is. Presley tried to spell supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, but realized that the magnet set she has only has one A. She was disappointed to say the least.

Must be in the genes

Presley has inherited an affinity for football. She won't let this thing out of her sight. Check it out...
Drinking with the football.
Smiling with the football.
Bubbles and football.
Tasting the football.
"Get your wet nose away from my football."
Driving with football.

This is about a week ago- she has gotten much better!

Walking!

Presley is walking! She really doesn't even crawl anymore at all. I will post a video ASAP.

We're still here!

Just a little under the weather... Presley had a double ear infection a few weeks ago, and after her medicine was gone, she still seemed sick. I called the doctor's office to see if someone could just check her ears, but they said she would have to have an appointment. Nick took her to the doctor Thursday but Presley's doc wasn't in so she had to see someone else. They said she had a sinus infection that had moved into her tear duct too. We got oral antibiotics and something for her poor baby eye. Friday they called from daycare and said Presley had fever. I called the doctor's office to tell them, and they said not to worry- the medicine just hasn't had time to work. Well, she ran fever all weekend. It got up to 102.8- I know that is not high in the baby world, but it made Presley feel terrible. I took her to the doctor again this morning, and her right ear was "bulging with puss". UGH! Dr. Blair said that it was way past what oral antibiotics could take care of. So, Presley got a shot, we have to take her tomorrow for another shot, and then Wednesday for...you guessed it...another shot! Scary. The doctor on Thursday said that her ears looked fine!
Last weekend we went to the park. Presley had fun, and I got some cute photos! The pink outfit is from yesterday. She was being goofy, and had snot all over her face! I'm looking forward to getting rid of that stuff!
