9 Weeks and Two Birthdays

On Tuesday, Nick turned 31! I bought a smoker for him a couple of weeks ago, and Presley gave him two dollars for his birthday. Tuesday night I fixed him hamburger steak, mashed potatoes, and green beans (his pick), and I bought a cheesecake. Presley and I got him some balloons and put some candles in the cheesecake and sang Happy Birthday!  I didn't take any pictures :( These days I'm doing good if I'm not asleep before dark.

My mom turned a year older ;) on Wednesday, but she was visiting my grandparents in North Carolina. My grandfather is in the hospital and not doing very well. He had a perforated duodenum and had to have surgery a couple of weeks ago. He is 84, so his recovery is going to take awhile. We hope that they get him to a rehabilitation center soon.

Presley had to go to the dentist Wednesday, and I was really worried that she had a cavity in this one spot, but her dentist said that it wasn't one. She wants to keep an eye on the spot, so we have to go back in three months.

I really want to blog about my pregnancy and take cute belly shots, but I hate pictures of myself! Maybe one day I will decide that the documentation of it is more important than how I look in the photo, but that isn't happening today! I will update you on some things that are going on with baby #2!

I am 9 weeks along.

The baby is about the size of a grape.

Having an empty stomach makes me queasy.

I have gained about 4 pounds.  I was trying to lose weight before I found out I was pregnant, so I'm surprised I haven't gained 10 by now. I can still wear my regular clothes, but it won't be long before I need something with more room!

I am craving sour food and citrus.  I bought lemonade and sweet tart gummies at Kroger today to satisfy my craving.

I am exhausted by the end of the day, but I wake up early because I have to use the bathroom so bad!

I had forgotten how much people like to give you advice when you are pregnant. They also like to treat you like you are recovering from a major surgery (one of my favorite pregnancy memories is being offered a wheelchair when I went to see my friends, Katy and Jacob, when Owen was born). I have gotten advice on names, advice on what gender my baby should be (as if), on quitting my job, and so on.  It kinda wears me out.
