Why is Presley so blue?
We had a great Thanksgiving! We got to see our family, and eat lots of great food. You can't get much better than that! We noticed that Presley started breaking out, and it just seemed to get worse every day. Since we are new parents, we were sure that she had a rare disease, so we took her to the doctor. Dr. Blair said that she thinks that Presley has cradle cap that has just moved down to her face and neck. She told us to get Selsun blue and put it on her face then wash it off after a few minutes. If it doesn't work, it may be eczema. We hope this works! Presley weighs almost 10 pounds- no more newborn diapers! Be checking the mail for her birth announcement- I hope to get them sent out next week. If you aren't sure if we have your address, give us a call! Love you!

Time Flies
I thought that I would be able to post more often! I just can't seem to find time. While Presley is sleeping I am usually trying to take a shower or keep up with the laundry, and even then I am unsuccessful! Anyway, on Monday Presley had her first bath, and as you can see by the pic, she did not like it! She enjoyed the next one, but it was cut short because she got a little too comfy- that was funny! Friday, we went to the Crime Lab and to Nana Raine's office. It felt really good to get out of the house and see some friends! Saturday her Big Daddy, Nana Raine, and Nana Pam came to see her. She really loved all the attention. We went to Sunday school and church yesterday, and Presley did great! I can't believe that she is 3 weeks old today!

A Weekend of Firsts
Nick fed Presley her first bottle this weekend, she used a pacifier for the first time, and she went to church for the first time! We actually did not make it to the service this morning, but we went to a potluck and our Crown Financial class. We almost made it to the service, but Presley decided she was hungry right before we left! At church, her umbilical stump fell off so we might have our first bath tonight too!

No more jaundice!
Presley's doctor called Tuesday and let us know that there will be no need for anymore heel pricks! Hopefully we don't have to go back to the doctor until she is 2 months old. That one will NOT be fun because she will be getting her vaccinations. Daddy is definitely going to that one! This is a pic of Presley playing on her Happy Hippo Gym yesterday. She loves it- it has a mirror that she really likes! All girl!

One week!
Presley is a week old today, and our doctor appt. was great. She has gained 5 oz in 4 days, and is 1 oz away from her birth weight. Her doctor is so sweet, and says that Presley is "just beautiful." She says that judging by her color, her bilirubin level is down, but that didn't stop her from pricking her in the heel to make sure! Nana Raine was there to coax Presley back to sleep within seconds after the heel prick. She has slept nearly all day today! This is a pic of Presley asleep in her daddy's arms.

Sunbathing
Miss Presley has jaundice, and this is a pic of her laying in the sun. We go back to the doctor tomorrow to get her bilirubin count again. We really hope that it is down. I am scared that if it isn't they will tell me to stop breastfeeding for a couple of days. That wouldn't be bad, but she chokes on bottles and pacifiers!

Des Arc 8, Hazen 6
Des Arc played their rival, Hazen, tonight. They won! I didn't go because that was a little too far away from an epidural for my comfort, but Nick said that it was the best game of the season. I went out to eat with my granparents and my parents to celebrate my grandmother's birthday. It is so nice to spend some time with them. My mom's parents drove all the way from North Carolina to wait for Presley! They have been here since the 17th. They are the best! I feel guilty for calling my friends and family now because everyone I call sounds disappointed when they figure out I'm not in labor! I understand, I am a little disappointed too!

Friday Eve
Tomorrow is Friday and payday! I love Fridays! Our friends, Jacob and Katy, just had a baby boy yesterday. His name is Owen, and I got to meet him tonight. He is so precious. Nick had a jr high game, so I went by myself. I got in the elevator to labor and delivery, and a guy offered me a wheelchair! Katy said pitocin was horrible. YIKES!

Waiting...
Not much to say about today. Nick and I went walking tonight, and I noticed that there is a full moon. Maybe something will happen in the next couple of days! This is a picture of my dad's parents with their first son, Sam. I wish my grandma Betsy was here to meet Presley, but I am sure that she will be checking in on us!

Happiest Halloween!
Nick and I went to the doctor today, and I am happy to say that I do not have another appointment at his office for 6 weeks! My doctor made an appointment for me to be induced on the 31st. I am optimistic that she will come before then, but at least I know that I will not be pregnant forever! I think that my mom might be planning Presley's first birthday party right now...

Coming Soon...
Well, we hope that Presley will be making her appearance sometime this week! She is due Saturday, October 27th. I hope that she will come on the 26th so that she and her great grandmother can share their birthday! Nick, of course, has a football game Friday night so that could be interesting. I have been going to the doctor every week for about 3 weeks now. At my last appointment I was dilated 1 cm and about 50% effaced. That does not tell me anything about when I will go into labor so I am really not sure why they check. I go to the doctor again Tuesday, and I will be sure to keep everyone updated! Right now, we are just waiting and praying for a healthy baby and an easy delivery!
