New Perspectives
We all traveled to SE Arkansas earlier this week to meet up with all the Popes and remember my grandfather. It was so strange to go down there knowing what we were there for, but also being so glad to be together. My grandmother’s cousin led the service, and it was so nice to have someone that knew my grandfather to share memories with. He even remembered that my grandfather seldom came to eat before his food was cold, and he reminded us at how my grandma Betsy would say, “Your eggs are stone cold!” and Pop would reply, “Good, that’s how I like them.” I thought that my grandfather was a pretty funny guy, but sometimes my grandmother didn’t. I also remember that after my grandmother was gone, we all wanted to eat before Pop came to the table because when he got there, he would just cry and cry about missing my grandmother.
It is always interesting that God can bring us back to remembering the important things in life through losing people that we love.
Presley enjoyed all the attention that she received, and all the toys, books, candy, and sweets. She also enjoyed Snickers. Snickers is my cousin’s puppy. Presley really liked to hold her and would get a very tight grip on Snickers anytime you tried to take her away! That is my mom trying to pry Presley’s fingers off!

Natural Science Center
When we were in NC, we stopped by the Natural Science Center. They had lots of things to see, and we had a blast walking around. It was so fun to watch Presley interact with everything. She was scared of the dinosaurs, chased the peacocks, and told everyone to get away from her bunny rabbit.
My dad in a hard hat. Well, at least it resembled one.
Presley trying to be like her Big Daddy.
Nana Raine and Presley.
Presley does this. I guess it skips a generation because I don’t do that. At least I don’t think I do.
This goat made Presley’s day! Look how happy she is that he came to the fence!
You have no idea how bad I wanted to tell Presley not to touch the goat. I was sure it was going to take off a finger, but it didn’t and she was so excited about that stinky goat!

Tea Party and Pottery
Presley and I did some girly things on Christmas break while daddy went hunting. We got home on Monday, and Nick left Tuesday to go hunting. He didn’t get back until Saturday! Presley and I had plenty of girl time, and Nana Raine even came for a visit!
We had a tea party one night.
We also went and painted pottery. I can’t wait to go pick it up!

Rescue Pack Coming to the Rescue!
I didn’t really get caught up on my Christmas blogging on our snow day, but I might get another chance tomorrow!
Presley got a Diego Rescue Pack for Christmas. It came with Baby Jaguar, a Tapir, a stethoscope, a cast for Jaguar’s foot, a food bowl, and some other stuff. While Presley was sleeping one day, I was picking up her toys (so she could promptly drag them back out), and I found that she had removed everything from Rescue Pack and replaced them with some necessities. A flashlight and lipstick. Smart girl.
I also discovered that she had relocated Baby Jaguar, Tapir, and the food bowl. Our 4-legged friends have to eat on the mat in the kitchen. Presley must understand and respect this rule. Later that day, she walked over to the food bowl and said, “They ate it all!” She then got some dog food from the dog bowl and put it in the orange bowl. I usually get on to her for playing with the dog food, but how could I this time? It was just too funny!

Our Christmas Break
I love using the blog to journal for our family. My blog posts may be a little long, but we have been busy =) So, these are mainly for us just to remember what we did.
Well, we got out of school Friday at one o’clock, packed up and headed to Bryant for the party with Santa. Saturday, we headed to Sheridan for the double birthday party, and Saturday night everyone came over for dinner and games (4 men on a couch). Sunday, we went to Nick’s parents’ church for their Christmas service and we opened gifts after lunch.
Saturday night the kids and Max watched TV in Nana and Papa D’s room.
Presley was content to just stay in Nana’s arms.
Waiting to open gifts!
Presley loved playing her Nana’s piano!
